The Betty lou's story
Betty Lou’s Seafood & Grill has quite a history in San Francisco, with partners who have worked together at other restaurants in the area over the past 30 years and are well known and liked in North Beach. Hector Chaparro, the executive chef, hails from Temascalcingo, Mexico. Sisters Betty Pesce and Louise Taylor, who will greet you at the front door, are third generation Portuguese from Hawaii.
A warm, friendly eatery with an Italian flair, Betty Lou’s opened at the corner of Columbus and Grant Avenues, bringing new excitement to the southern gateway of North Beach. A significant addition to the North Beach dining experience, providing what the locals and visitors expect in San Francisco, our passion is to provide the freshest fish and shellfish at a fair price in a comfortable, family atmosphere.
Indulge yourself with their Classic Cioppino, San Francisco’s seafood stew, filled with succulent Dungeness crab, prawns, scallops, clams, mussels and calamari – utter perfection! Expect to be dazzled by Mike’s Wok Crab, a creation of Betty’s husband, Mike - a concoction of Dungeness crab, ginger, scallions, red peppers and soy sauce, wok tossed with lots of love. This dish has become a huge favorite! If seafood is not your thing, you might try the juicy 16-ounce bone-in ribeye or Chicken Piccata!
Hector, Betty and Louise look forward to the pleasure of your company!
